All fishing vessels MUST send in a request for an observer by filling in the Observer Request E-Form.
If everything checks out, the vessel will be issued a port use authorisation code. The port use authorisation code allows the vessel to carry out activities in port.
The vessel will be inspected to ensure it is fit for purpose and is safe for the observer.
Once the vessel is cleared, the observer placement is approved and the observer is assigned to the vessels trip.
